Esther and Danny were married under a breathtaking Maui Rainbow! I arrived at the Plantation House in Kapalua and I knew as a Maui wedding photographer, that the chances for rain on this particular day were good. As the day progressed, the sky began to clear and it was looking favorable for the gorgeous wedding planned in the next few hours! Esther came to the meet area and I was immediately impressed not only by her beauty and her radiant smile but also her stunning “PRE” wedding dress she had made herself, just for the occasion! YES, she made it herself! Coming from New York, both she and her boyfriend have great fashion sense and keep up with the latest trends! She then changed into her elegant wedding dress which, of course, made for great pictures! Let me not forget to mention Danny who was very well dressed and adorned with charming shoes and socks!
There was a slight rain delay just before the ceremony and then as we started, a sparse mist began to fall, but there was no stopping this pair from saying their “I Do’s” and we continued! Recognizing the situation I noticed the rainbow it was right overhead as they were saying their vows! It was very beautiful and romantic! The slight mist turned to a few more drops as the ceremony continued and soon it was finished and they were husband and wife! The sun began to shine and a slight mist continued to fall and the Maui Rainbow hovered above the Plantation House for a long time making for amazing pictures. Esther & Danny loved that the rainbow shone so bright for them on their special day.
Once we had finished off all of the family and friend photos, we continued down to the golf course to create a few romantic moments when we came upon the stunning bougainvillea plant. The whole sequence of pictures taken there were with both of them having a great time on their wedding day, laughing, whispering in each other’s ears and enjoying their first moments as man and wife. We then walked up the hill and the sky began to light up in golden hues which made for a spectacular picture of them with the huge open sky! One of my favorite pictures! While we were walking back to the Plantation House, Elaine had an idea for a picture with the gorgeous doors that are around 20 feet tall. It turned out beautifully. Thanks for your idea Elaine! The dining room was decked out with gorgeous flowers and made for marvelous pictures. Congratulations to this happy couple and thank you so much for choosing Tad Craig Photography to document your beautiful wedding day!
Thanks to Elaine for planning this perfect destination wedding and making their dreams of a Hawaiian wedding come true! I love the Plantation House Restaurant which is high on the hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, as it is so picturesque with amazing views in every direction! Also thanks to Kimo Kirkman for his thoughtful words during the ceremony and Ginny for her sweet sounds on the harp and also Maui Wedding Cakes. Last shout out to Sunya’s Florals for the great bouquet! #plantationhouserestaurant #sunyasflowers @sunyasflowers #mauiweddingcakes @mauiweddingcakes
My friendship with Julie and Theo had started long before their wedding as they had started following me on social media, liking and commenting on certain images. I too had followed their IG account and noticed the excitement and anticipation building as the wedding got closer and closer. These two met riding horses in California, and their passion for horses made them move to Kentucky where they now have their own horse breeding ranch. This love of horses, led the two to becoming best friends and now they are marrying each other on the beautiful beach in Hawai’i.
FINALLY, the day arrived and they were ever so excited! Julie was truly floating on cloud nine as she was getting ready for her girls and popping the bubbly! Their room at The Grand Wailea, was magnificent with such an amazing view of the beach with palm trees and the Pacific Ocean blue as far as you could see. After we had finished all the getting ready pictures we headed down to beautiful Wailea Beach. Kimo Kirkman was the minister extraordinaire who not only had them laughing just about every second, but also brought tears to their faces as they said their vows! Very touching! Kalani Miles serenaded them afterwards with his amazing guitar picking!
Once they were finished with all the beach and family pictures, we made our way to White Rock Beach where we found the gorgeous bougainvillea plants adding an intensely colorful background as they enjoyed tender kisses as husband and wife! On the beach, Theo spun his wife and the reaction on her face was priceless! They scored one amazing sunset and once finshed there we continued the journey to Gannon’s restaurant, where the super fab DJ Dan introduced the loving couple to an eager crowd who clapped, hooted and hollered as they walked in! What an amazing night they had and THANKS to them for including Tad Craig Photography in their Maui Wedding Dreams! Thanks to Leah of Island Wedding Memories for coordinating this fine wedding, Meili Autumn Beauty for hair and makeup, (Randall did Makup) Reverend Kimokirkman, Dan Of DJ Dan Maui, Kalani on ukulele, Brian on video and Maui Floral Elegance for her bouquet! All the pre wedding was at The gorgeous Grand Wailea, wedding was on Wailea Beach, the reception at Gannon’s Restaurant and sunset pictures on pretty White Rock beach! #islandweddingmemories @islandweddingmemories #mauifloralelegance #maui #mauinokaoi @lahainawarriors_3 @grandwailea @gannonsmaui @bevgannonmaui #gannonsmaui #grandwailearesort #grandwailea @mauidano @kalani36 #julieandtheo
Gannon’s Restaurant in gorgeous Wailea is always breathtaking and this particular day was not any different! The place is adorned with dancing palm trees swaying in the wind, lush, green foliage, incredible purple bougainvillea’s and amazing views in every direction.
Merissa arrived with a giant smile on her face, ready for the day’s events to unfold! It was terrific seeing her excitement as she was about to become Mrs.Corona! Her dress was gorgeous as was her stunning bouquet! Anthony was spending time with his best friends and his dad, who were also excited to be apart of this fabulous day. Anthony looked very sharp in his smart suit and stylish shoes, he was relaxed and ready to marry the woman of his dreams.
The wedding location on the grounds of Gannon’s, was actually high on the hill overlooking all of Wailea and the Pacific ocean! The views are so stunning, that even though I have been to that location quite a many times in the past, it is still mesmerizing! I am sure that all of their guests were thinking the same thing! Merissa was escorted down the isle by her father who beamed with pride, and when Anthony laid eyes on his gorgeous fiancé, his face lit up! Beautiful! Tino Rossete was the minister extraordinaire with his soft spoken, poignant words and great personality which made for a great ceremony! Finally they kissed and sealed their love, making it official!
Later we made our way back to the restaurant and the reception location just in time to see the sun set which made for spectacular back lit shots of Merissa playing with her veil. They loved the sheer spectacle of the alluring sunset on their wedding day, which helped close the day!
A little later on in the evening, Anthony escorted Merissa to the dance floor for their first dance together as husband and wife. They were having the time of their lives while their family and friends watched. She held her man tight while they danced under the palm trees and stars while everyone in attendance cheered. Does it get any better than that?
Congratulations to these lovers becoming one in the tropics of Maui!
